FAQs for Anxiety, Trauma, and Pain Counseling in LA, San Francisco, and all of CA

You are tired of feeling anxious and restless all the time. You are exhausted by waking up every morning with your thoughts and heart racing. You want to feel better, but I it’s hard to take that first step.  I understand. Here are a few simple FAQs to get you started.

How long will we be working together?

There are multiple factors that contribute to time in counseling. However, most clients commit to 6-8 months of counseling. We discuss and measure progress monthly.

So, how often do we meet?

From experience, I have found that working together on a weekly basis, leads to improvements and progress towards their goals. We will establish a set time to meet on a weekly basis.

Why do we meet so often?

In order to find relief and make progress it takes time. By meeting on a weekly basis, we build on the work of the previous week, instead of playing catch up. Much like meditation, I have found that therapy is much more effective when it is done consistently. Clients who attend therapy on a weekly basis have better results and are better able to maintain their progress.

What happens during our time together?

Typically session 1-3, I will gather a thorough history and will set specific goals for therapy. During the consequent sessions, we will work together to develop tools and techniques that will address the problems and stressors that brought you therapy. In addition, we may explore some parts of your past that may be the root cause of the current stressors.

What kind of results can I expect from counseling?

My clients report feeling less stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. They report feeling more at ease, in charge of their bodies, and confident. After completing therapy, clients report they know how to respond to stressful situations, while staying in charge of their bodies and emotions. Overall, they report feeling more peaceful and calm.

What happens if I need to cancel or I get sick?

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Please, make sure you give me 24 hours notice to avoid paying the late cancellation fee, which is the full session rate. I offer phone sessions in case something happens and you cannot come into the office.

Do you take insurance?

I am not currently accepting insurance. However, I can provide you with a Super-bill, which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement using Out-off Network benefits.
