FAQs
How much does therapy cost?
Sessions are $200 for 50 minutes. I offer a sliding scale for those who need it—just ask during our consultation call.
Do you take insurance?
I'm an out-of-network provider, which means I don't bill insurance directly. However, I provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
To check your benefits: Call the member services number on your insurance card and ask about your "out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits."
How often would we meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions. As things improve, we often move to every other week, then monthly, as you build the skills to maintain progress on your own.
How long does therapy take?
It depends on what you're working through. Some clients with specific anxiety or a single traumatic event see significant improvement in 8-12 sessions. Complex trauma or long-standing patterns may take longer. We'll check in regularly about your progress and goals.
Is this all virtual?
No. All sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video or in-person in the Woodland Hills area of Southern California. This allows me to work with clients anywhere in California and gives you the flexibility to attend from wherever you're most comfortable.
I've tried therapy before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
Traditional talk therapy is great for understanding and insight—but for many people, especially those with anxiety or trauma, understanding isn't enough. If your symptoms live in your body (racing heart, tight muscles, physical tension), you likely need an approach that works with the body directly.
That's what EMDR and the Trauma Resiliency Model do. They don't replace talk therapy—they add a layer that often makes the difference.
What is EMDR like? Is it weird?
EMDR can feel unusual at first—you're following eye movements while thinking about a memory, which isn't something most people have done before. But most clients find it surprisingly natural once they try it. You're in control the whole time, and we go at your pace.
What if I'm not sure this is right for me?
That's exactly what the free 15-minute consultation is for. No pressure, no commitment.
Why do we meet so often?
In order to find relief and make progress it takes time. By meeting on a weekly basis, we build on the work of the previous week, instead of playing catch up. Much like meditation, I have found that therapy is much more effective when it is done consistently.
What happens during our time together?
Typically session 1-3, I will gather a thorough history and will set specific goals for therapy. During the consequent sessions, we will work together to develop tools and techniques that will address the problems and stressors that brought you therapy. In addition, we may explore some parts of your past that may be the root cause of the current stressors.
What happens if I need to cancel or I get sick?
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Please, make sure you give me 24 hours notice to avoid paying the late cancellation fee, which is the full session rate. I offer phone sessions in case something happens and you cannot come into the office.
